The power of money from sponsors who invest in Peruvian medias and in the National Team of Peru, which began its journey to fight for a place for the World Championship Russia 2018, is so great that manipulate and censor the press. After the two defeats against Colombia and Chile, for the umpteenth time we saw a team and a technical command that tries to do the best they can. Unfortunately without quality and and an inadequate physical and mental preparation our rivales passed the bill with defeat after defeat.
The commercial interest for the money that the media receive from sponsors reports to the local fans biased informations and a subjective positive support to the selection. It is forbidden to tell opposing opinions of our representative. The correct messages to the public will cause to the fans the opinion that our team don´t walk. Before, during and after the two games we received only comments to maintain our country with high expectation. The sponsors of the Peruvian team and a significant sum of money they invest in journalistic spaces is the reason of spread comments, opinions or analysis of the meetings only thinking in high rating because if they fall, they could lose the auspices or they want to pay less money.
The Peruvian soccer fans is being cruelly deceived for decades and the advertising content messages to intend to keep the spirits up and keep them engaged in the transmission. The truth does not matter. Money does matter and the correct press is bound and censored by the owners and directors of the medias. They force them to speak well of the selection and justify any excuse failures.
Only a few journalists tell the truth, like Mr. Elejalder Godos or Mr. Carlos Navarro. They were censored, dismissed or removed from their jobs for committing the crime of a right opinion. Freedom of Expression is rubbish for these gentlemen. I felt ashamed, when Mr. Godos made a negative question about the estrategy of the Coach Gareca The direct transmission from the press conference was cut from the air in full spicy question and Mr. Navarro received reprisals for a critique against the tactical against the Chileans.
As a member of the Inter American Press Association I publicly denounced these powerful lords who receive thousands of dollars to sell lies and hidden truths. I am against the censorship to my colleagues who have worked and work with dignity and with respect to the public.
