Miami, July 15, 2015
Dear members and friends of the IAPA,
Firstly, I hope that you all are well.
I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you all our immense satisfaction with the successful SipConnect 2015 Hemispheric Conference, held from June 24 to 26 in Miami. I’d like to extend particular thanks and gratitude to the sponsors, whose generous support made the event possible.
The goal of the conference—which was attended by about 200 people, including 25 speakers—was to promote new digital platforms as a secure source of revenue and of new audiences, and to encourage the development of networks and contacts between communications media and digital businesses in Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States.
The numerous congratulations we received have filled us with satisfaction with the event and have inspired us to improve the program and better adapt it to the needs and interests of the digital transformation of the press. Hereafter, SipConnect will be an annual meeting in Miami and, additionally, we plan to hold other regional events (special satellite workshops), with the goal of incorporating successful digital experiences and cutting-edge platforms, services and applications into the living practice of publications.
With regard to these workshops, we would be interested in receiving suggestions about topics and problems that deserve to be addressed or taught. In the attached document you will find a brief, one-question survey which we ask that you please fill out and return to us as soon as possible.
The recordings of the SipConnect 2015 sessions are now ready to view on YouTube:

SipConnect has strengthened the IAPA’s leadership in the processes of digital transformation of the press. It is important to remember that the financial wellbeing of the media is derived essentially from its autonomy and independence opposite governments and pressure groups; and as such, the conference and its regional workshops become instruments for the defense of freedom of expression and of the press.
Sincerely yours,

Gustavo Mohme
