In 2003 the great Peruvian surfer Javier Swayne won the title in the Latin American Tour. Next year Sofia Mulanovich won the ASP World Championship Women Title and at the same time the individual crown of the International Surfing Association.
Since then, our beloved surf passed successfully a lot of international competitions from the World Surf League (WSL) and from the International Surfing Association (ISA). After more than 12 years the Peruvian surf maintains his quality and I believe that we are behind the United States, Australia and at the same level with Brazil
And soon of the Billabong Pico Alto, another successful negotiation between Billabong Peru and the WSL, allows us to have a stop of the Big Wave World Tour. Good luck to our star Gabriel Villaran.
